Baseball Recap: American Fork's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only American Fork walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Farmington Phoenix on Wednesday. Considering the Cavemen have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

CJ Mascaro was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, American Fork got a big performance out of Max Miller, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Crew Ingersoll was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The win (which was American Fork's ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season.

American Fork will have a chance to go back-to-back against Farmington: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
