Basketball Recap: Emma Ormsby's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mccall-Donnelly over Fruitland

McCall-Donnelly's game on Thursday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Fruitland Grizzlies by a score of 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vandals have suffered against the Grizzlies since January 24, 2022.

McCall-Donnelly lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emma Ormsby, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Shilah Arnold, who put up 12 points.

McCall-Donnelly's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Fruitland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

McCall-Donnelly will welcome Homedale at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fruitland, they will head out on the road to face off against Weiser at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
