Basketball Recap: Braden River Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Braden River had won four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it five. They came out on top against the Northeast Vikings by a score of 57-48. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northeast fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jy'Aira Washington, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Washington's third in a row with at least 17 points. Jaidon Jones was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Braden River has already played their next contest, a 56-30 loss against Academy of the Holy Names on the 24th. As for Northeast, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinellas Park at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
