            The Cross County Cougars will take on the Ord Chanticleers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Cross County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  game with five straight  defeats, while Ord will come in with four straight  victories.
Cross County is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against Grand Island Central Catholic  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars were dealt  a  52-14 loss at the hands of the Crusaders. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  45-0.
 Although Cross County took the loss, they still got scores from  Benji Cooper and  Sawyer Anderson.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Ord). They claimed a resounding  63-7 win over Centura. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Chanticleers with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Ord didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Beau Wells and  Knox Nelson. Ord received some extra help from  Caden Lytle, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
 Ord now  has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cross County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Cross County took a serious blow against Ord  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, falling  42-14. That  matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down  24-0.
