Softball Recap: Stanley-Boyd's Undefeated Season over After Eight Games

If Stanley-Boyd was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Mondovi last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orioles fell 8-3 to the Fall Creek Crickets on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Orioles in their meetings with the Crickets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Kelly Lew made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Sikora, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Stanley-Boyd fell to 7-1. As for Fall Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanley-Boyd will take on Augusta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Orioles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fall Creek, they will face off against Cadott at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Crickets 3.8, the Hornets 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
