With a playoff game on the line, Overton rose to the challenge on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over the Mart Panthers. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Bryce Still was his usual excellent self, rushing for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 246 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Bryson Bobbitt was Still's top target, picking up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Mart lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being De?Montrel Medlock, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Ah'Maad Scott, who rushed for 167 yards while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.

Overton's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Mart, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Overton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-23 defeat against Grapeland on the 29th. Mart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
