Monarch extended the longest winning streak in 4A Mountain this week by beating Vista Ridge, 62-28. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Coyotes.
Monarch took down the Wolves 62-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Alpoitier (A.J.) Thompson was a passing and rushing force as Montbello fell to Montrose. He completed 29 passes for 277 yards and also ran for 30 yards. Thompson's key target this week was Marquille Jones, who caught 10 passes for 122 yards.
Jones was the best receiver in the league this week as the Warriors fell to the Indians. Jones tallied 10 receptions for 122 yards. Gerardo Barraza helped Montbello's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 58 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Jacob Naranjo of Standley Lake is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,923. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jones. The Montbello star has 66 catches for 856 yards.
Golden made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,872 from 11,072.
