Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peru). Their defense stepped up to hand the Wabash Apaches a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering Peru have won six matchups by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Wabash from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Braxton Caldwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Peru's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Wabash, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11-1.

Coming up, Peru will challenge Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on October 1. As for Wabash, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Culver Community on the 25th.
