Basketball Game Preview: Morrison Mustangs vs. Amboy Clippers

The Morrison Mustangs will head out to square off against the Amboy Clippers at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Morrison will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Morrison will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Fulton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs managed a 52-48 victory over the Steamers on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly four points.

Morrison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izaak Neas led the charge by putting up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Rubright, who posted 14 points.

Amboy hadn't beaten Ashton-Franklin Center on the road since February 9, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Clippers were the clear victors by a 47-25 margin over the Raiders. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-4.

Morrison picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-8. As for Amboy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Morrison didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Amboy in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
