Baseball Recap: Green Hope Comes Up Short

Green Hope lost against Laney back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Falcons fell 6-3 to the Buccaneers. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Troy Haynes put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Haynes wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Green Hope's record is now 4-11. As for Laney, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Hope will host Green Level at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laney, they will take on West Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
