Preview: Middleton Tigers vs. Adamsville Cardinals
The Middleton Tigers's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Adamsville Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Middleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Middleton had to settle for a 56-53 loss against Fayette Ware. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Middleton in their matchups with Fayette Ware: they've now lost six in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Harmony Bell, who scored 21 points along with 3 steals. She scored a full 39.6% of Middleton's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kemora Buggs was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Adamsville had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Hughes 39-37. Given Adamsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Hughes is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
With Middleton's victory and Fayette Ware's defeat, both teams now sport identical 4-2 records.
Middleton was able to grind out a solid win over Adamsville in their previous matchup back in November, winning 47-36. Does Middleton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Adamsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
