The Syracuse Rockets are taking a road trip to take on the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Syracuse is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Syracuse is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Auburn 54-27. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Rockets just coasted through the last quarter.

A big part of Syracuse's victory came down to the chemistry between Will Janssen and his top target Mason Lintz. Janssen rushed for 239 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry while Lintz rushed for 152 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries. Janssen is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Syracuse was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 544 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Wilber-Clatonia won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Falls City 21-20.
Syracuse better focus on containing Crew Pulliam and Zach Marsh as the pair were huge in Wilber-Clatonia's win. Pulliam rushed for 57 yards and one score, while Marsh gained 157 total yards and a touchdown. Pulliam was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
Wilber-Clatonia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marsh and Graysen Vlcan. Marsh also rushed for 123 rushing yards, which is notable because Wilber-Clatonia is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.
Syracuse's record is now 8-0. As for Wilber-Clatonia, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Syracuse has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 369.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wilber-Clatonia struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 175.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Syracuse's way against Wilber-Clatonia in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Syracuse made off with a 45-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
