Baseball Recap: Thompson Valley Comes Up Short

Thompson Valley had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-12 to make it five. They lost 16-5 to the Roosevelt Roughriders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 10-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Cameron Denning was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Engelland, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Roosevelt, the win keeps them at an undefeated 16-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.3 runs this season.

On Roosevelt's side, the team relied heavily on Kayden Bryant, who fired off three home runs, nine RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those three home runs gave Bryant a new career-high. Luke Unruh was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Thompson Valley will face off against Loveland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Roosevelt will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' game: after the Eagles face off against the Red Wolves, they'll take on Roosevelt again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
