Soccer Game Preview: Northshore vs. Byrd

The Northshore Panthers will welcome the Byrd Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Northshore is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Newman, who was ranked eighth at the time (Northshore was ranked 22nd). Northshore lost 5-0 to Newman on Monday.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Byrd's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of St. Paul's by a score of 1-0.

Byrd's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2-2. As for Northshore, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Northshore came up short against Byrd when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 2-0. Can Northshore avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
