Football Game Preview: Springfield Longhorns vs. Holly Wildcats + How To Watch

Springfield is 2-7 against Holly since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Longhorns will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Holly took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

Springfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-20 victory over Rocky Ford. With the Longhorns ahead 48-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Coltin Woodhouse continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 150 yards and two scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Springfield's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Woodhouse was just one part of a punishing run game: Springfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 48 points the game before, Holly was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by Las Animas and fell 58-6. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Holly, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
