Hoosic Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Emma Willard 27-8 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Hawks brought their scoring average up to 8.4 runs per game.
Lainey Bochette was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Izzy Finkle was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Hoosic Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Berlin/New Lebanon made sure to put some runs up on the board against Germantown on Thursday. The Mountain Lions put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 21-9 win. Considering the Mountain Lions' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Jaezsa Bartolotta ?26 made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Bartolotta ?26 was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilly Gardell (RPI), who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Sandstrom ?29, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Berlin/New Lebanon's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hoosic Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
