Baseball Recap: Shamokin Area Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central Mountain, Shamokin Area was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shikellamy Braves, sneaking past 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Braves back in April, they had to take a 11-5 defeat.

Izak Glover tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Shamokin Area secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Hayden Karlovich, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Shamokin Area's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Shikellamy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

As of now, neither Shamokin Area nor the Braves have any future games scheduled.
