The Burlington School Spartans and the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in The Burlington School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

The Burlington School saw some tournament action on Friday. They secured a 64-58 W over T.W. Andrews. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 73-60.

The Burlington School better keep an eye on Cash McSweeney. He was instrumental in Cardinal Gibbons' win, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. McSweeney's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Cockerham, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

Cardinal Gibbons' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for The Burlington School, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
