Baseball Game Preview: Williams Bay Bulldogs vs. Palmyra-Eagle Panthers

For the second straight game, Williams Bay will face off against Palmyra-Eagle. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williams Bay has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Williams Bay is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Palmyra-Eagle on Tuesday. They lost 16-2 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

For Palmyra-Eagle's part, Dillen Patrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Patrick was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, D Walsh and Devin Patrick did most of the damage at the plate: Walsh got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Devin went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs Patrick has posted since back in May of 2024. Dalton Anton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Palmyra-Eagle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Palmyra-Eagle's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Williams Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
