Baseball Recap: Cheney Comes Up Short

Cheney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 8-2 to the Ridgeline Falcons. The Blackhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Cheney saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Rasmussen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Nolan McKinnon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Cheney's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

While Cheney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
