Geneva is 9-1 against Merritt Island Christian since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Geneva Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Merritt Island Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. Geneva is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Geneva and Lake Mary Prep had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Geneva blew past Lake Mary Prep 9-3 on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Geneva let Jeremiah Kavanah and Luke Shaw run wild. Kavanah scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Shaw scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Shaw also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Tyson Hilliard was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Merritt Island Christian's offense. They came up short against Melbourne Central Catholic on Tuesday, falling 12-0. The Cougars have struggled against the Hustlers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Geneva pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Merritt Island Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Geneva's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. Geneva has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Merritt Island Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Geneva continue to outrun the ball?

Geneva took their win against Merritt Island Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-5. Will Geneva repeat their success, or does Merritt Island Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
