Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cary-Grove). They had just enough and edged out the Jacobs Golden Eagles 3-2 on Tuesday. For Cary-Grove, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 victory Jacobs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Jack Donoghue and Gerardo Garcia scored all three of Cary-Grove's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Cary-Grove's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 2-18-1. As for Jacobs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-3 record this season.

Cary-Grove and Jacobs are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Trojans will venture away from home to challenge Woodstock North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jacobs, they will host Rockford Auburn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
