Northern Virginia HomeSchool had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Columbus Crusaders by a score of 50-42. The victory was nothing new for the Centurions as they're now sitting on 12 straight dating back to last season.

A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Gabe Drown and his top target Sheppard Jones. Drown threw for 469 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt while Jones picked up 242 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Moser, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Columbus Crusaders still got an impressive performance from Ezekiel Bowie, who rushed for 231 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per carry. Bowie really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Braden Miller was another key player, picking up 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Northern Virginia HomeSchool will be playing in front of their home fans against Revolution at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
