Basketball Recap: Iroquois Comes Up Short

Iroquois played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Erie Royals and fell 69-35. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Royals are ranked 172nd).

Iroquois lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Roman Caporale, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cajohn Howard, who posted seven points and five steals.

Iroquois dropped their record down to 8-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Erie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Iroquois will square off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, they will head out to face off against Cathedral Prep at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral Prep will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Erie surely won't give up without a fight.
