Pace hasn't had much luck against Mercedes recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pace beat Lopez 33-28.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Damian Majano and Ricardo Saucedo. Majano had a solid game and rushed for 63 yards and one score on only five carries. Meanwhile, Saucedo was balling out in the loss, rushing for 125 yards and one touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mercedes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 69-0 win over Porter. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Pace better keep an eye on Robert Sanchez. He was instrumental in Mercedes' win, rushing for 107 yards and four TDs on only six carries, while also picking up 64 receiving yards and one score. Sanchez has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Diego Bravo, who threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Mercedes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 185 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.
Mercedes' victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Pace, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Majano and Sanchez. Majano just won't slow down this season and has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 95.9 rushing yards per game. Sanchez has been a dominant force too and has run in 20 touchdowns while averaging 115.2 rushing yards per game.
