Softball Recap: Spain Park Comes Up Short

Spain Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 14-5 to the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Spain Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Hewitt-Trussville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-11.

Coming up, Spain Park will face off against Chelsea at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Huskies' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Eagles have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
