It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Williamsville East ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Williamsville South Billies. The Flames haven't had any issues with the Billies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Libby Kosmowski spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elise Prelewicz, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Talia Yonaty also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Williamsville East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsville South only managed five hits.
