Basketball Recap: Palmyra Comes Up Short on the Road Against Freeman

Palmyra kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeman Falcons. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Palmyra lost, don't look at Ryan Mayo. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kade Kassebaum, who scored nine points.

Keegan White was a one-man wrecking crew For Freeman. as he dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. Hayden Jansen was another key player, shooting 58% from the field en route to 15 points.

Palmyra didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-35 win against Southern on the 5th. As for Freeman, they have also already played their next contest, a 57-28 victory against Sutton on the 6th.
