Softball Recap: Plainville Takes a Loss

Plainville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 20-5 to the Spearville Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Monday.

Plainville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Dintino, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Plainville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Spearville, the win keeps they at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Republic County at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Spearville, they will head out to square off against Southwestern Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
