Softball Game Preview: Wylie Pirates vs. Conroe Tigers

The Wylie Pirates will take on the Conroe Tigers on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wylie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over Temple. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Meanwhile, Conroe entered their tilt with Klein Oak on Saturday with 16 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 17. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 12-1 win. Conroe's victory was all the more impressive since the Panthers were averaging only 4.06 runs allowed on the season.

Conroe's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Wylie, their win bumped their record up to 24-10.
