Softball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Olympic Trojans

Palisades is a perfect 4-0 against Olympic since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Palisades Pumas will host the Olympic Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Palisades lost 20-2 to South Mecklenburg on Tuesday. The contest marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sanaa Dorsey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Olympic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Garinger, falling 21-15. One positive for the Trojans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Olympic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Palisades, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Everything went Palisades' way against Olympic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Palisades made off with a 24-0 win. Will Palisades repeat their success, or does Olympic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
