Football Recap: Venice Indians vs. Lake Mary Rams
On Saturday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. The Venice Indians breezed by the Lake Mary Rams to the tune of 52-19. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Gata Wilder was his usual excellent self, rushing for 181 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 129 rushing yards. Winston Watkins Jr. also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Venice was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.
Venice didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ben Zarkiewicz and Kyni Brantley. Landon Marsters was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.
Despite the loss, Lake Mary had strong showings from Chase Hinshaw, who picked up 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Noah Grubbs, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns.

The win (which was Venice's eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.1 points. As for Lake Mary, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.
