Basketball Recap: Nyashia Stanton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Clay-Chalkville

Central lost against Clay-Chalkville back in November of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Central Falcons took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay-Chalkville Cougars. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nyashia Stanton, who posted five points in addition to ten boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Airre'Ale Norfleet, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Clay-Chalkville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-34 loss against Murphy on the 21st. As for Clay-Chalkville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-36 win against Chelsea on the 21st.
