Baseball Game Preview: Dunellen Destroyers vs. New Brunswick Zebra

Dunellen is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Monday. They will host the New Brunswick Zebra at 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Dunellen's offense. They lost 9-0 to Manville on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Destroyers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Dunellen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mark Stein, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, New Brunswick beat Somerset Tech 12-9 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Zebra in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.

New Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Dunellen, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Dunellen beat New Brunswick 7-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Do the Destroyers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Zebra turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
