Baseball Game Preview: DASH United vs. Greenfield Knights

The DASH United will head out to face off against the Greenfield Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DASH is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

South Wake hit DASH with a nine-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The United lost 15-1 to the Sabres.

Meanwhile, Greenfield was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Rocky Mount Academy.

Christopher Tankersley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Josef Popowitch was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mack Wiggins, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Greenfield's record is now 15-5-1. As for DASH, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
