Baseball Recap: Irondequoit Takes a Loss

Canandaigua Academy hit Irondequoit with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Gray Wolves by a score of 7-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gray Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jimmy Jackson and Jack Niggli stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jackson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Niggli went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Bryan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Irondequoit's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Canandaigua Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-5.

As of now, neither Irondequoit nor the Gray Wolves have any future games scheduled.
