Highlands took Golden Sierra into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 21-25, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Lindhurst made easy work of San Juan on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Blazers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.
Lindhurst never let San Juan on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-22, 25-20.
Lindhurst found their leader in sophomore Peyton House, who had ten aces and four digs.
Lindhurst was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Lindhurst now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
