Soccer Game Preview: Service vs. Eagle River

For the second straight game, Service will face off against Eagle River. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Service has seven straight wins, Eagle River has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Eagle River, who was ranked 21st at the time (Service was ranked sixth). The Cougars never let Wolves get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Friday. Give Service's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

They hit Eagle River with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Oliver Casurella (2), Brayden Fett (2), Matej O'Malley, and Ardit Colaku.

Service pushed their record up to 9-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
