Volleyball Recap: Nelson vs. South Salem Saxons

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Nelson had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the South Salem Saxons. The win made it back-to-back victories for Nelson.

Nelson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, South Salem saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leah Ioane had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Ioane has posted in her last 14 contests.

Nelson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for South Salem, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 29-12-1.
