Tri-River Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

A Season-Best Performance from Tyus Miller Leads Clovis East over Clovis West

Tyus Miller produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Clovis East to the win on Friday. Miller wasn't messing around, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 121 yards on only eight carries. The match was his fourth straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.

If the past is any indication, Miller could be in store for another big game when he takes on Central on Friday. Miller threw for 441 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries the last time he and the Grizzlies duked it out back in October of 2023.

While Central might've come up empty on Friday, Brandon Smith wasn't going down without a fight. Smith turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while also picking up 53 receiving yards.

The loss snapped Central's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record. Smith will try to repeat (or improve) on that dominant performance when he faces off against Clovis East on Thursday.

Jackson Cinfel Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Jackson Cinfel put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (102.6).

On the season, Cinfel has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 102.6 rushing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 6.8 receiving yards per game. This year he is averaging 14.6 receiving yards.

Big Game from Rose As Clovis Won 37-10

Deagan Rose's big game helped extend Clovis's winning streak to six on Friday. Rose was unstoppable, throwing for 267 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.

Buchanan's probably not too fond of Rose given he always seems to get the better of them. Rose threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 66 yards the last time he and the Bears duked it out back in October of 2023.

Another Central player making an appearance on this list is Jelani Dippel. He threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns.

For the season, Dippel has thrown 19 touchdowns (and and only 3 pick) while averaging 255.2 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 6.6 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 116.15 passer rating.
