Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Takes a Loss

If Providence Classical was riding high fresh off their 67-47 takedown of Judah Christian Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Providence Classical Paladins came up short against the Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy Patriots on Thursday, falling 57-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Paladins of the 54-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Providence Classical saw an underclassman step up: freshman Grafton Eiff went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points and three steals. That was a full 43.8% of Providence Classical's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Providence Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Providence Classical will head out to take on HOPE Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Classical is facing HOPE Academy at the right time seeing as HOPE Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 60-42 victory against Statesville Christian on the 24th.
