Dedrick Melvin was a major factor in DuQuoin's victory over Benton on Monday. Melvin struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. DuQuoin is 2-1 when Melvin posts eight or more strikeouts, but 4-5 otherwise.
