Basketball Recap: Mishawaka Piles Up the Points Against Saint Thomas More Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mishawaka). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Saint Thomas More Academy Griffins 62-31. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavemen considering their 25-point performance the contest before.

Mishawaka found their leader in sophomore Ednyia Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Johnson now owns an excellent 46.2% shooting accuracy. Grace Matherly was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 12 points and seven boards.

Mishawaka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mishawaka's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Saint Thomas More Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Mishawaka will be playing at home against Argos at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Thomas More Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
