Basketball Recap: East Jessamine Skates Past Burgin with Ease

While East Jessamine didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by the Burgin Bulldogs to the tune of 61-34 on Tuesday. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Jessamine has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Burgin, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

East Jessamine and Gibbs will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on December 26th. East Jessamine is facing Gibbs at the right time seeing as Gibbs is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Burgin will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Lakewood Ranch at 11:15 a.m. on December 27th.
