Volleyball Game Preview: Starr's Mill Panthers vs. Central Lions + How To Watch

The Starr's Mill Panthers will face off against the Central Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Starr's Mill comes in on five and Central on seven.

On Wednesday, Starr's Mill beat Northside 2-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Starr's Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Ryan, who had six digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Katie Gutshall, who had nine assists and three digs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central duked it out with Jonesboro on Wednesday. The Lions walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Cardinals.

Central found their leader in sophomore Julianna Johnston, who had 12 digs and four aces.

Starr's Mill's win bumped their record up to 27-12. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 33-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Starr's Mill has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Starr's Mill couldn't quite get it done against Central in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
