Basketball Game Preview: North Kingstown Skippers vs. Smithfield Sentinels

The North Kingstown Skippers and the Smithfield Sentinels will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, North Kingstown opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-48 loss to East Providence. The match marked the Skippers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Smithfield played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 83-49 defeat at the hands of Barrington. The loss continues a trend for the Sentinels in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Kingstown, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Everything went North Kingstown's way against Smithfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as North Kingstown made off with a 64-38 victory. Does North Kingstown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smithfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
