Softball Recap: Heritage Hawks vs. Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers
Heritage had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 12-4 to the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers.
Amelia Thornton was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thornton was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Heritage didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Fellowship Christian Academy only tossed five.
Central Fellowship Christian Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.
Heritage will welcome Flint River Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, so Central Fellowship Christian Academy will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
