Softball Game Preview: Washington Blue Lions vs. Miami Trace Panthers

For the second straight game, Washington will face off against Miami Trace. The Blue Lions will head out to face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Washington came up short against Miami Trace on Monday, falling 18-2. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Lions in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

For Miami Trace's part, Gracie Cordell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Cordell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Mya Babineau was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Dylaney Templin was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Miami Trace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Miami Trace's record is now 7-9. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
