Baseball Game Preview: Chiefland Indians vs. Williston Red Devils

The Chiefland Indians will challenge the Williston Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Chiefland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Bronson 12-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Trey Meeks was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Williston never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Wildwood with a sharp 21-0 win. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.

Waylon Geiger and Colby Jansen did most of the damage at the plate: Geiger went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Jansen scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Williston is undefeated when Geiger posts two or more runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Breeden Clemenzi was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Williston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Chiefland's record now sits at 12-9. As for Williston, their record is now 13-10.
