Softball Recap: Conway Wins Going Away Against Myrtle Beach

Conway got themselves on the board against Myrtle Beach on Wednesday, but Myrtle Beach never followed suit. They blew past the Seahawks 9-0. That looming 9-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Benton Causey was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Cayden Black was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Rabon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Conway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Myrtle Beach only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Conway and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Myrtle Beach, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Myrtle Beach will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. Conway will be paying especially close attention to Myrtle Beach's match: after Myrtle Beach faces off against Riverside, they'll take on Conway again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
